Updated Risk Assessment for SR2015 No.28: installing a clear span bridge on a main river

This is an update of the risk assessment first published in April 2016.  As with all standard rule permits this only applies for:

  • a bridge that has no bed or bank reinforcement or support in the watercourse nor changes the level of the land at each end and surrounding the ramp or steps to the bridge;
  • a deck width that is no more than 4.2 metres and is not used as a public highway.

In addition these rules do not allow the construction of bridges on or within 8 metres of a flood defence structure; or within 200 metres of another bridge over or culvert in the watercourse; or within 100 metres of a non-agricultural building.
