New_ CONCAWE report on Environmental fate and effects of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)

PFAS is just one of the emerging contaminants of concern at the moment but with the EU in 2013 setting an annual average environmental quality standard
(AA-EQS) for PFOS in surface freshwater of 0,00065 μg/l and a compliance date of 2027 there is much to be done given the difficulties currently in even achieving reliable laboratory detection at such low concentrations. This document is a good starting point for understanding more about PFAS, where it has been used, its toxicity and the European regulatory context. You can download the document here.
