If you are interested in the geotechnical testing of soil, then you might want to spare the time to review some key standards that have been published, as drafts for consultation. Three parts of the above standard are currently available on the draft British Standards’ website as follows:
- Part 7: unconfined compression test;
- Part 8: unconsolidated undrained triaxial test; and
- Part 9: consolidated triaxial compression tests on water-saturated soils.
These documents fufil the requirements for geotechnical investigation and testing in accordance with EN 1997-1 and EN 1997-2. Consultation for all three standards ends on 20 November if you wish to have your say please go to https://drafts.bsigroup.com/.
