Did you know over 10,000 were killed or seriously injured on country roads in 2014? According to a Government news release, a third of all fatalities occur on bends, with young drivers being most at risk due to late breaking, taking a racing line or overtaking blindly.
Site work in our industry is often undertaken by young newly qualified staff, often driving unfamiliar hire cars, all over the countryside, to visit previously unknown sites and locations. Given this, why not take a moment to share the Government’s latest “THINK” campaign to encourage drivers on country roads to brake before the bend, not on it. You never know you might save a life.
