The International Ban Asbestos Secretariat(IBAS) published on 15 August 2016 a “UK Asbestos Alert: An Update,” highlighting the possibility that imports of asbestos containing building materials from China could be present in the UK. Concerns have arisen after a Company in Australia was found to have supplied roofing panels used in a school construction project which were imported from China, and a related Company in the UK is known to import building materials from the same Chineese source.
